Synopsis
Director Matthew Fifer (co-director of Cicada, winner of Oslo/Fusion 2020 Audience Award), is back with his second film - a darker and mysterious tale about journalist Joe who returns to his hometown after getting sober in rehab.
In search of a paying job, he finds not only a sex partner in local Luke, but also the story to revive his career: the circumstances surrounding the deaths of eight gay men while admitted to the city's psychiatric hospital - once the workplace of most of the townies, but now abandoned and deliberately forgotten.
When residents begin to die in wake of Joe's investigations, he enlists the help of Luke to look for answers in an intricate web of questions that blur the lines between fantasy and reality. They seem to have a common source - but what?
